Privacy notice

This notice explains how Veratex Works (Pty) Ltd ("we") processes personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

Who we are

Responsible party: Veratex Works (Pty) Ltd, The Willows Office Park, Simon Vermooten Road, Die Wilgers, Pretoria, South Africa. Information Officer: Dennis Kriel, privacy@disctest.me.

When a company buys a Team pack for its staff, that company decides why its team uses DISC Test and we process team members' information on its behalf, as its operator.

What we collect

  • Your answers and results: your ratings of the test statements and the profile and scores calculated from them.
  • Account details: your email address and, if you give it, your first name.
  • Purchases: what you bought, when and for how much. Card details are handled by our payment provider (Stripe) and never reach us.
  • Invitations: the name and email address you enter when you invite someone to compare or to join a team.
  • Technical data: basic logs (such as IP address) to keep the service secure and prevent abuse.

We do not ask about health, religion, race or other special personal information, and the test does not measure them.

Why we use it

  • To calculate and show your results, and to deliver what you bought (your consent and our contract with you).
  • To share your profile with people you choose: a partner, colleague, team or facilitator, and only once you agree.
  • To send service emails such as sign-in links, receipts and invitations.
  • To send occasional tips and news, only if you opt in. Every email lets you unsubscribe.
  • To improve the test using anonymised, aggregated data, so we can check reliability and fairness.

Who can see your results

  • Only you, by default. Your individual answers are never shown to anyone else.
  • In a comparison, the other person sees your profile and scores once both of you agree. Either of you can remove it.
  • In a team, other members see your profile only if you choose to share it, and you can stop sharing at any time. Team maps only appear once at least three people share.
  • A facilitator who gave you a Playbook sees your profile only if you tick the box to share it.

Where it is stored and for how long

Our servers are hosted by Hostinger and our email is sent by Resend; payments are processed by Stripe. Some of these providers process information outside South Africa. Where that happens we rely on agreements that give your information a level of protection comparable to POPIA (section 72).

We keep your account and results until you delete them. Payment records are kept for five years for tax purposes. Unclaimed anonymous results are deleted after 12 months.

Your rights

  • See and download everything we hold about you (Account → Download my data).
  • Correct your details, or delete your account and results (Account → Delete my account).
  • Withdraw consent to sharing or marketing at any time.
  • Object to processing, or complain to us at privacy@disctest.me or to the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).

Children

DISC Test is for adults (18 and over). We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Security

Sign-in links and sessions are stored as one-way hashes, connections are encrypted, and access to production data is limited. If a security compromise affects your information we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
